Hi all,

I have recently fitted new grooved front discs and Ferrado DS2500 pads to my 2005 LCR as I was not happy with the original Brembos. DS2500s fitted mostly due to rave reviews on this site.

They have now been on for 200 miles and I am so far not impressed. They do not have the low speed bite of the Brembo pads and I can sense no additional performance upon high pedal pressure.

What are your experiences with these pads, do they only work well when they are very hot. Are they really for hard/race use only? Should I try a differnt pad make for road use?

Many thanks

Mine are great i can brake very hard and have never had any issues from cold, fitted along side ebc standard discs. Maybe your discs arent helping, what are they? Also maybe you will only notice the difference after consistent hard braking where fade is an issue for the OEM pads. I thought i was upgrading to these pads but turns out they had already been fitted before the previous owner so i cant say i noticed the difference but it is a good few times better than stock brakes on a cupra tdi.

I used some on my old LCR with standard discs and the difference was night and day over prolonged use. As has been said, bedding in makes the difference.

mine where a landslide better than the original ones. At all speeds. Bed them in correctly.

i have the same set up ds2500 pads and ebc grooved discs. hard braking is excellent, can't believe how good they are when i stamp on the brakes but other braking seems less responsive than my original standard set up, not sure why, i followed the bedding in process, maybe brake fluid needs changing??

ds2500 braking

yes brakes v good when hot and with high pedal pressure but pants cold and in real world situ. I have bedded in the correct way and pressure bled with 51 fluid. Pads seem too hard and are noisy with my new grooved discs. Spent over 400 on this set up and its not as good as standard. Will try original pads and may sell ds pads off. I will let u know how it goes

My setup is Ferodo pads on the stock Bremo discs. and mine are way better in all situations. Cold and warm. I see some cold weather in the Norwegian mountains see.

Its not the pads..
bed them in 'again', give them some stick

why are you the only person in this thread saying they have less bite than stock, when others are using the same setup? it has to be bedding in...

give them some stick so the grooves sweep the pad face, and they should come back.
