IIRC Milltek had issues with their 100cell Race Cats failing MOT's and now sell them with 200cells with 100 as a special order item.

What do you mean by fast run? I thought it was done at constant revs and only at about 1500rpm. Who made the exhaust? They would be my first port of call if it's failing the MOT on emissions.

I had a blueflame 70mm system with 100 cell cat which caused the emissions light to come on. I had the light sorted and when MOT'd it passed the emissions test no problem.

i'm sure all these stories of 100cell CATs that fly through emmisions testing is comforting for the original poster.

Yes, I'm sure it is comforting that the fact he's chosen a 100 cell cat isn't the problem. More useful than your post that's for sure. :p

As nobody on here knows the specifics of his CAT, plus the fact he's attempting to clean it and also that not all 100cell CATs in the world have passed an MOT first time (search on here); then isn't it still possible it is his CAT to blame?

I'm not hoping it is, after all i wouldn't want to have to replace such an expensive part.

That's why I suggested he speak to the exhaust manufacturer. When I had a problem with the emission light coming on Blueflame offered to swap my 100 cell cat for a 200 cell one.

Why not just put the old cat back on for the MOT and then swap back afterwards?

Thats what I did when I decated my Astra? The garage that MOT'd my car did it for me no worries just cost me a tenner more.
