Exhaust manifold

Hi, newbie to the forum here! Had a 1.4(aex) ibiza for about a year now and loving it as a daily drive. Never let me down. Unfortuntly ive recently heard (and more recently noticed) ive got a large crack in the exhaust manifold. Seat want £140 for a new one which seems a bit steep to me. Any suggestions on aftermarket replacements or where to go fo one?
Thanks, James.

Retail price is about £129 inc VAT You will also need a screw and washer to plug a hole where a lambda probe would fit if you dont have one but those do not make another £10.

There's no F in Quality..
your best bet is to try and get a 2nd hand one from a scrap yard.

either that, or see if you can find someone to weld up yours.

the reason it's cracked could be down to excessive movement of the engine, possibly caused by a knackered front engine mount. Worth getting it checked/changed before you fit a new manifold, otherwise you may find yourself in the same situation in 12months time !

The engine mounts aren't too expensive from the likes of www.seatspares.co.uk etc

Sorry i wrote it down wrong, that quote includes the two gaskets i would need. Thanks for the tip though i'll check that out before I get a new one. Better start trawling the scrap yards!

My engine definatly doesn't have the lambda sensor attached here, but I also can't see a bunged hole where one would possibly fit?? Was this a later edition?

hi

i'm a 1.4 AEX, in need of an exhaust manifold too.

going to be searching a few scrappies this weekend.

does anyone know which other engines/cars i should be checking that have the same exhaust manifold as mine?

i'm guessing the 1.4 polo of similar age but which are the others? or what the part number might be?

cheers in advance.
