Hi dose any one know how much it will cost to fix a exhaust manifold to turbo gasket on a 210 bhp cupra R. I have been quoted £55 for the gasket and £200 to fit it? sounds a bit harsh! Anyone else had this problem?

The gasket is around £ 5 - 10 from the main dealers. i its a matter of 3 torx headed bolts that go through the manifold. and a bolt which goes through a bracket underneath, should be able to remove these bolts and move the turbo down slightly, just enough to get the gasket put the new one in and put the bolts back through. have to remove the charge pipe and a few bits on top to get to the bolts easily.

labour at our garage we would charge max maybe around £ 50.

the bolts in the turbo can be a nightmare thou sometimes probably because of the heat they get solid in the studs, also the studs cant be brought from the main dealer seperate so have to be made at a tapping/threaded inserts specialists. alot of people have had this problem and means you have to remove the turbo in some cases which is a few hours properly.

£55 for the gasket it WAY over the odds. From experience its worth chenging the bolts at the same time. (really worth it)

the gasket is 06a 253 039 h . . works out about 4.40 + vat
i have removed a hell of as lot of clutter from my engine like brackets and other stuff and i can see the 3 bolts on top of the turbo . . i think you might have a bad back once done mind haha
carefull not to twist or pull the turbo to much as the oil feed and return pipes will still be on and you dont want to kink one.
