In the last week, my car has got very VERY loud under boost. (Like an elephant farting down a well). I suspected that I might have a fault with my BlueFlame turboback. I managed to get it checked today on a lift and there is nothing wrong with the exhaust or the turbo-dp gasket.

A

leads me to believe that it's most likely to be a crack in my exhaust manifold. :censored: There's no noticable drop in power and it hasn't thrown any codes. I haven't had a good look but you can hear/smell exhaust on tickover from that area.

My options would seem to be
  • new OEM manifold
  • ATP manifold @£300

Can anyone tell me how much a replacement OEM manifold is likely to be / how many hours labour is involved in fitting?

The other though that's crossed my mind is that seeing as the turbo has got to come off in order to fit a replacement manifold, should another turbo go back on?

What are people's thoughts?

AUQ LC running Revo Stage 2 / Forge Tip / Blueflame turboback for anyone who's not familiar with the car.

replacing the manifold isn't a big job, and the turbo remains in place.

15 nuts & 3 bolts.

once you've got all the crap out of the way to get at it.

I know of an OE one that's up for sale for not much

Turbo to intercooler pipework. Do I have to disconnect the ally pipe at both ends and remove to get the exhaust manifold out?

I would guess yes. Is the ally pipe into a hose at the bottom end?
