thinking (as i sometimes do!!!) that this cant be that hard to fix????? can anyone tell me what part number the screws would be so that i can get hold of some more and replace them!

Feck the screws get the mig welder onto it and weld it on.
The screws will have sheared into the holes anyway so thats a non starter

The heat plate should either be above the CAT or an intermediate box. Once under the car follow the exhaust from the front of the car and between the top of the exhaust and the bottom of the floor you will find a loose (in your case) heat plate

If you get underneath and have a look if you can go through shield and plate of some description surrounding it you maybe able to blind rivet.
Havjng never really looked at it when i have been under it i cant advise much more.
If you dont know what a MIG welder is i would not advise trying this yourself, not good to trial run on your car either
