Hi All

My 1.8 20v has started to try and kill me. Over the last month it has started to stink in the cabin of exhaust fumes. I have checked all of the exhaust and it has no leaks, the pollen filter is not blocked and there are no pipes off under the bonnet....

I am a bit stumped... any ideas:blink:

Now how is that possible?

I certainly have no idea mate, but you you could check the manifold gasket to see if it's seeping.. then the rubber grommets on the engine-bay wall.

Other than that I'm not sure how can exhaust fume could enter the cabin!

Sounds dangerous. All i know about this is that when your down pipe starts to go there a strong smell of fumes can develop in the cabin, but you said you've checked the whole system. I'm just wondering what sort of condition its in tho.

Let me know what it is tho, as i have no other ideas

Had this on two cars now, so yours will be one of these for a guess:

Cordoba:

*Leaking fuel line
*Hole in engine breather pipe

Ibiza

* Hole in oil breather pipe

So get under the bonnet and check all the pipes is my advice
