Exhaust for FR 2.0TDi 170

Hi all,

what are the after market options for an exhaust for the 2.0 TDi? Fancy a change ie new rear bumper and exhaust, so would like to know where I could get an exhaust.

I've just been looking into this this afternoon too! Been watching videos of FR TDIs on Youtube with Miltek exhausts.. Was after one with a single exit on each side of the bumper but Miltek don't seem to do that!

Is it worth getting a Miltek one or just get the Seat one?

apparently remus are slightly better quality than milltek. I was told this by the guy at star performance in kirkcaldy, scotland. Search youtube for "TDi Remus" some quite nice sounding exhausts for tdi. just not sure about the DPF hindering sound quality for exhaust.

Is a catback exhaust the only option? Turbo back would involve removing the dpf?

Would any Golf TDI 170 exhaust fit the Leon? As some places don't list the Leon on there..

a turbo back system, removing the DPF is a more complex mod. also requires a specific map to compensate for different sensor readings. I need to find out if, a dpf delete pipe with sensor mounts is compatiable with a cat back system. If it is compatiable, i will install a cat back system first then do a dpf delete later.
a cat back system should sound better but no power gains due to dpf.
PS. from currently development figures, it looks like it is possible to get about 230-240bhp with a dpf delete and map.

I'm mainly after the sound and the looks anyway, not too worried about performance gains from it!

then a cat back system should be up your street then. do a couple of searches on youtube and other places to try to find what sound you prefer. i'm swaying towards remus atm, but might change later

silly question but what is 'DPF'?

DPF = Diesel particle filter. it's the block just behind the turbo that catches the black soot from the exhaust gases. tbh, it's more of a problem than good on the PD170. reduces economy and if it clogs up you could be in line for a four figure sum replacement bill
