Exhaust diameter

Hi boys!

Does anyone know what is piping diameter of exhaust(central pipe) on Cupra2 ?
I want to put insead of central silencer resonated central pipe.

It is 2.0 16V

"8v GTI exhaust is 50mm diameter, 16v/1.8T is 55mm and I think 1.4 is @ 48mm"

Not sure if it's the same all the way through (ie, near the silencer)

from memory, our 8v was 58.5mm from back of cat.
remus ex. that went on was 54.5mm, think original ex. was 58.5mm

55mm? hmmm...supersprint street system is 54 and supersprint racing system is oversized 60mm.....so now I am a bit confused with these numbers

i thought standard 16v was 50mm, thats what supersprint sell as a centre section.

Exhaust section diameters...er...more confusion

Hi again. Found this thread when looking to find info on exhaust piping diameters for SEAT IBIZA CUPRA Gti 2.0 8v 1997; secondary problem with noise beneath passenger seat turns out to be a split seam at the point where the post cat pipe enters the mid section box..she said, trying to sound technical... I inherited the car with a MAGNEX oval tailpiped exhaust on it. Im being told that the mechanic will have to remove the split section, weld repair and re-fit. Was gonna do that then remembered pipe/paste fixing kits! Doh! Surely it's ok to fix the seam split that way? 2 days ago I took out and cleaned the MAF sensor (GUYS THAT WAS SUCH A GREAT BIT OF ADVICE!) - cat converter isnt glowing anymore. Half my problems are sorted. LOL

Anyone like to do the exhaust seam repair job? Do I really wann get under my car even on a trolley jack/bricked up for safety? Nope!
