Excessive Moisture in car

Hi,

Has anyone had any trouble with moisture in their cars? I have noticed that my rear window steams up and on journey it takes a long time to clear (30 mins+) but this morning I got in my car to find my front windscreen frosted up inside and out (we had a hard frost last night) which resulted in excessive amounts of water on the inside of the screen raining down on to my dashboard! The car also felt very damp inside this morning. This is fifth car and I have never known anything like this before.

To confirm I did not have air recirculation or the air-conditioning (just the standard aircon I don’t have climate control), the heat was set on full and directed to the windscreen with the blowers on Maximum.

Cheers
Rich.

Yep, often i'll get the car demisted, and then over time the car will get too hot so i'll turn the heat downa bit and the rear windscreen and rear windows will steam up quite quickly.

Dry your mats out and keep the aircon on as the cooling of the air causes the moisture to condensate out of it before it enters the car so there's less airborne moisture in the car.

I tend to alternate the blowers between the windscreen and the face setting, directing the nozzles at the windows and into the back to demist the rear windows.

roll on summer when this isn't n issue

With all the snow, chances are you've been taking snow into the car. That moisture doesn't just disappear unfortunately, so until summer or until you do as night says, you'll get moisture.

If like most cars the heater air intake is in the scuttle area it is very likely that moisture from snow has been sucked into the system and made the pollen filter wet.

Thanks Guys, couple of noob questions now (this is the first car I have had with aircon). Will running the air-conditioning while the heat is on cause any problems for the aircon? I have always thought it was just used for cooling. If the pollen filter has got wet, will it just dry out or does it need to be replaced?
