Euro'd Ibiza 1.8 16v Gti Cupra

Right i wanted to clean the car up properly so i bought some Super Resin Polish, and some polishing fibre cloths, washed the car, then used Autoglym paint renovator. Then the polish, here are the results:

look how the colour came up:

think it's called purple iris, a rare colour on mk2's and rarer on a 2.0l 16v Cupra

always black - never colour coded on the mk2

i looked at a picture of the 1.8 16v lumps (out of a corrado) and they're completely different to the 2.0l ones, the fuel line go where induction kit goes on a 2.0l

i'm not complaining tho

Noticed you haven't got the front foggies in , but is that a 'hose' of some sort I spy on the right -hand one ? some sort of cold air feed?

yer it is mate, i bought facelift GTi splitter, and it doesnt fit the bumper, so i'm gna have to wait to buy a new front bumper and then fit the Gti splitter.

i took the fogs out as a temp measure, it's also made the induction kit sound much better now that the cold air feed is direct

Mine came colour coded as standard. Admittedly my car's colour is black but the handles have got proper colour/lacquer layer on them

p.s. Saw the car in the sunshine in person today, and the purple paintwork looks TASTY

1.8 16v out of a corrado would be a KR engine with mechanical injection, where as the 1.8 16v in an ibiza would have EFI.

the lumps in the mk2 1.8 16v and 2.0 16v look almost the same, there are a few differences tho

easiest way to tell

if it's an ADL engine it's a 1.8 16v if ABF it's a 2.0 16v

love the colour tho, we only ever sold two that colour at work and both were ex press cars from memory

how can i tell what lump it is, its quicker than alot of things, gave my mates G a run for its money, i would have said on that account. I put engine bay pics up when i bought it and was told it's an ABF lump
