Right a bit of a rant and a rave here then all done...

Firslty, cecil and larter in bury st edmunds, now the staff are nice and friendly but the manager is a bit of a bullsh*tter and will tell you one thing and it not actually happen, 1 year i've been waiting for a service history book finally turned up after moaning to seat uk and them several times and he even lied about that to, ******!!

Secondly miller and middleton there is a bloke who is the head of the repairs and servicing, now he is smarmy and just dont think he's telling the truth either, took my car there for warranty when engine went bang, told me i'd be waiting weeks, then rang hima couple of days later and he tells me its almost ready, (well that happens), he said blokes have test drove it and all is well, so about to collect it then he tells me that its not ready as clutch was put in wrong way round?? how the hell does that work??? a car service was supposed to be done on it for 300 quid only paid £100 and thank god as that wasn't done either, bloody place. mate went there and they quoted him £600 to do a cambelt and water pump WTF.

Thirdly, now this is a good example of a dealer, johnstones in braintree, although staff look miserable im sure their not lol, i ordered some parts with them new subframe wishbones and ball joints, very helpful guy and even gave me discount so i'll be going there again, service was good and didnt give me any BS..

Just makes me laugh as soon as they get your money they dont care, (ok not all are like that but the one's ive dealt with are), makes me think if i ever get another seat where should i go or why should i bother half of their attitude stinks. i've had loads of problems, engine went bang, picked up car from dealer when i bought it car had dents and scratches over it then lying about service book then the hassle of having to try and run around after them all the time,

This is it i think "hello mr moffat, would you like this car"

"yes please"

"ok bend over and let me take the piss out of you"

" o certainly, any lube with that?"

So if your using the first two goto the braintree one much better and friendlier!!

Rant over lol

Living in East Anglia I have visited all of the local dealers for servicing / car searches etc.

I have to agree generally with the comments......Cecil and Larter in Bury St Edmunds are closest to me as I live in Bury and I have had 2 services of my 4 so far carried out there. No complaints at all on the service side, and I even had a faulty temperature sensor replaced under warranty as I waited......good service all round from the staff there though. the sales manager does appear a little unfriendly though when compared to other Seat dealers.

Had one service at Miller and Middleton and it was fine but it just doesn't look the most impressive dealership in the world!

Johnsons of Braintree were excellent too when I had a service there.........s.taff were friendly and helpful and I would go back to both Cecil and Larter and Johnson's for services.

One dealer I had always steered clear of on prices was Marshall Seat of Cambridge but I have to say, I went in last week looking for a new FR TFSI leon to replace my 2004 Cupra (they had an Emocion red FR with 18's)..............although it was a Sunday the used car sales manager (Frank Banham) was a top man. Friendly and helpful with no pushy sales tactics. Just straight talking and good to deal with. He even delivered the Red FR I was interested in to my house on the Monday night to let me test drive it for the evening.

Although we couldn't agree on a trade in price for my Cupra, it certainly made my mind up about where my money would be going as I wasn't convinced on the new Leon until seeing the colour I wanted in the flesh and getting behind the wheel for a good drive. Top class 'potential customer' service in my book!!

As and when I have the cash from selling my Cupra, I'll be off to Marshall's to see what they can find for me......

One last note on East Anglian dealers.......Castlegate in Norwich........purchased my Cupra from there 3 years ago and dealing with them was fine.......the obvious haggling and bartering on the price and the deal but good after sales service.........

There is a place in Chelmsford (Helix iirc) that is now a Pug garage but was a Seat garage. They have a set of Seat engineers still on the books and are a specialist on the VW range.

I took my last tolly there for split brake vacuum lines and they could not have been more helpful and sorted out the warranty side of things with the garage I brought it from.

Worth a call imo.

Helix are a Citroen garage, pretty good personal experience from both brands though

Johnsons are also brilliant in my experience, rather than change whole wipers suggested and supplied replacement rubbers - most dealers would just go with the more expensive option !

Miller & Middleton :( absolute rubbish. Supplied the car, radiator failed few months later, and seat assist AA man fixed using Rad weld. Come service time they wouldn't change the radiator because it was not leaking. When complained was told dealer director (Mr Middleton himself) only deals with new car sales (had dealt with car sale)

Have not been back since

I took my old Mk3 Cupra to Johnsons SEAT in Braintree 3 times for servicing over the years, and had no issues at all with them really.

I will be most likely using them for my MK4 Cupra as well.
