last week i ordered a pair of blue white front fog light bulbs for my wife's mk5 in the handbook it says they are h11's which i ordered went to fit them and they did not fit took the bulb that came out of the car to halfords and they are not H11's they are HB4's so i ordered a set of them which turned up today for auto bulbs direct which fitted fine . just note the O/S front fog lamp bulb is a two min job but the N/S one is a pig to get to as the washer bottle and power steering pump fluid tank is in the way

hi dave the O/S fog is easy under the bonnet there is a hole just big enough to get your hand in but the N/S one you have to take the cover off under the wheel arch this is on a 1.4 . sport do you have boc as it may be different . just google autobulbs direct and go to up grade headlamp bulbs

Mark how easy/difficult was it to get the wheelarch trim off? I bought my replacement bulbs some time ago but have been put off changing them because it sounds a pain.
On my Boc I can just touch the back of the drivers side bulb but am not sure If I could remove it or worse still get it back in afterwards!

I am not lucky enough to own a boc we only have a 1.4 sc sport but if its the same put the steering on full left hand lock follow the wheel arch trim down under the front bumper and you will find 2 t25 torx screws undo these and gently pull it down and you can just get your hand in to get to the bulb that is the n/s the drivers side is easy on the sport open the bonnet look down at the back of the headlamp and you will see a hole in inner wing flitch panel you can just get your hand in the hole you feel the wire follow the wire and you will find the bulb give it a turn and pull it back though the hole then disconnect the wire then put back in reverse order hope this helps PS when you have changed the bulbs can you let me know which bulbs yours have H11 or HB4s thanks mark
