Happy new year all,

OK I've had an intermittent problem the last week or so. It's only happened a couple of times but basically the steering wheel has gone mental when letting off the power. It shudders and if I let go it'll pull hard left. If I accelerate it stops. Anyone had this before? I did a couple of searches but no joy.

is it really aggressive vibrations? like, proper mental?

i had this when my outer CV joint wore out
i didn't notice the boot had split, leading to the joint wearing itself out.

i'd get them checked out

I agree on the CV, its a possibilty

I'd personally also be looking at Steering rack, Tie rod ends, drop links , Sus and wishbone,

it appears you could have a bit of play somewhere

Actually on the way home it started knocking when turning right. Not every time. Sounds like your right about the cv joint. Thanks.

Just for anyone that searches and ends up on this thread. It was my CV Joint and it had actually cracked and broken inside. There was a chunk of CV joint in with the bearings!

Just developed the exact same problem was it the outer CV on the passenger side???

Thanks

Thanks fella, bloody freaked me out it just happened the first time at 60mph pulling onto a motorway then went and came back, felt like the wheel was gonna fall off but i had every bush and joint checked and nothing till i found your right up.
