It doesn't count as a mod, as they are a consumable item and not a performance enhancing item. But if you are in any doubt, phone them and ask. They wont charge you if they don't have to. I phoned my insurance company today to ask about a couple of bits just to be on the safe side (engine mounts and TIP) and they said they would like to know when I do them, but there wont be any change to the price. So, it's worth asking if you're unsure.

As for your choice of pads, they don't come highly recommended. There are plenty of other brands that would serve you better, such as Ferodo and Mintex.

I had the red stuffs and they proper nakerd my discs. Took a risk with cheap omp's when i got my new disks and they've been ok, much better than red stuffs. Think ferrodo ds are the best rated on here tho.

for heavy/powerful car EBc say not to use greens, too soft.
Reds is what they advoate, and yellows for track use.

DS2500 ferodo's I sell a reasonable qty of and they are good performers, but not the cheapest. Probably largest installed base on here is ds2500's

EBC is something I am trying myself, as their prices cant be ignored but avoid green like the plague IMHO.. just too soft.

Hard use on ANY pads will wear soemthing... there is no free ride.. its called friction. either disk or pads wears but something has to

Red stuff brakes are not available for the 1.6 I just checked, is there an alternative.

Off the subject id just like to say this forum is so much better in respect of people helping out I'm on another seat forum and they dont usally reply to peoples threads, not very helpfull in my view. I'd personally always help someone on a subject i'm familer with. Thankkkkkkkkkkkkks

Have a look in the Badger 5 sponsor forum for more info, if Bills post above doesn't answer all your questions :)
