engine temp???????

Hey everyone, Just wandering what everyones temp gauge does? When mine is in traffic, town driving or im pushing it my temp sits back on 90 in centre of gauge, but when im on big open roads cruising at a fuel efficient 55 mph in 6th gear and the engine is hardly working the temp drops off to the 1st quarter marker on the gauge???? is this normal? does anyone elses do that? I just had the coolant temp sensor changed because it was doing this and i 4t there was a problem but now the brand new parts doing it too??

This may sound bit dumb but what am i checking for? Will it display a fault or just display an exact temp reading for the coolant?

right with you so that should read the true value from the temp sensor i just had fitted, so if thats readin 90 on climate control panel and the temp gauge has dropped off it means thermostat is shagged???

Well no not really as 90 is the temp of the coolant, which is what it should be.
I can't see it reading 90 tbh since you have had a new sender (although they can be faulty new)

So its prob gonna read same as the temp gauge on dash then??? how am i gonna be able to work out wats wrong with it? And i take it that it should read 90 all the time then once its warm? thanks for all your help with this

Yeah I'm thinking it will read the same as the dash which then points to thermostat.
Yes should read 90, make sure the car does have a run

Dont like the sound of dodgy wiring, cheers for your help. goin on long drive this evening so will try it then.
