morning all ,I have a seat leon 1.9 tdi cupra,it has been mapped(not sure how high),,,I bought it last September and only done about 150 miles in it.my problem is when I purchased it the fella said it wants a cambelt and pump as the temp went up a bit,and he wanted to do it before he sold it,stupidly,i said knock the price down and ill do the cambelt and waterpump, the main suspect for the heating issue.it turned out it wasn't ,ive changed the temp sender, thermostat, radiator, fans, flushed everything out(full of bars leeks),,,so im now at head gasket stage,,,how hard is it to do the head gasket?
im thinking more towards an engine swap,,,,whip mine out and sling another in,,,instead of stripping mine, getting it skimmed, blah blah, still unsure if it will be any good

my engine is a pd 150 arl
1.. will an asz head fit ?
2.. ive been offered a pd 150 engine out of a golf,,,,but he said its a pd150 ,it was in a pd 115 car??
any help wil be appreciated

Swapping the engine isn't a bad idea as long as the donor lump isn't going to end up been a lemon as well.

What's the mileage and history of the current one?
These engines are pretty damn tough and the head gaskets rarely go on them.
Oil coolers do fail though and is a commonly misdiagnosed fault.
Another thing to bare in mind, has it had the camshaft and lifters replaced?
Because if it hasn't already it will inevitably require them at some point and the sabe thing applies to a donor engine if you go that route.

The ARL and ASZ cylinder head is exactly the same part number.

Don't bother with a PD115 as its essentially a downgrade and will require you to change the head bolts for the stronger ARL ones for starters.
