I always give about 60 seconds at least when I stop driving and when I turn the car off the engine shudders/ judders as it switches off.

I could have sworn it use to swithc off a lot smoother.

Any thouhgts ??

You don't really need to give it that long every time when you stop driving, only really if you've pulled off a motorway into a service station and gone from 80-odd cruising to a stop in a minute.

Maybe the vac hose has come off the anti-shudder valve, or the solenoid that actuates it has failed? The valve is on the inlet manifold by the EGR.

Yup, I';ve removed my ASV and its marginally more shuddery on shut down, but it really is nothing to me, and I'm happy with it. :)

Check that vacuum pipe. ;)

ASV = Anti Shudder Valve. incorporated into the EGR unit, it shuts a flap when the ignition is turned off which shuts off air going in the inlet manifold. Without it, the engine kind of "stalls" instead which generates a little more shuddering.

well went to the dealer today, they took it in straight away which was lucky. turns out the EGR and everything is fine but the engine mounts are worn out.

:censored:

How can engine mounts be work out on a car thats 3 1/2 half years old and hasnt hit 60K either.

Its a joke they will see if it can be done under my warranty otherwise its about £240 inc VAt to do it.

Its getting to the point I just cant wait to get shot of this damm car :censored: [:@]
