Engine Protection

Guys,

I've had a search around and haven't made any conclusions. What is the best engine cleaner protector around? On my last car I used Slick 50 and occasionally would use some stuff I cant remeber the name of to lubricate the tappets.

Anyone recommend anything for the lcr as I want to give the engine some treatment and protection.

Also what oil are people using? 5w30 ???

Are you going to use decent oil and change the oil regually? If so dont both as it will only stop the oil doing its job.

I used pro long in an old rover, as id used to p155 oil out everywhere once in a while so needed a back up.

Using a good oil and changing regually will be far better for the engine. I use Silkolen (sp?) at £25 and change every 5k. Works out cheaper than protectants and works far better.

Hi m8, where do you get your Silkolene from? And is it the 5w30 grade?
