Engine Mgmt. light on and!!!

Any one experiencied this?

When starting the car it revs between 2-3k then drops down but when you give it a bit of throttle there is a distinct missfire althought it does clear but until it does there is a strong smell of fuel & some black smoke coming from the exhaust.

Any ideas? Going into seat 2moro for diagnostics test as well, do you think there will be any problems here with my ecu being remapped also?

sounds like coil packs to me mate. If you know anyone locally with Vagcom it'll save you spending ££ at Seat.

Usually 1/2 hour labour so £30ish maybe moreif they're feeling especially generous!

Totaly forgot I kno a guy who is a seat/audi/vw specialist vag com showed up coolant temperature sensor only. Apparently this can cause over fueling.

£20 and everythings fine now so must be right.

ecu thinks the engines cold and pumps more fuel apparantly
