Engine Cutout

I've looked at previous threads - and thought I had my problem sussed. Everything was fine, I don't remember anything happening to trigger this problem - but every so often my car would 'judder' and I'd lose power. This could happen at 30mph or 70mph.

At first I thought it was me as I sometimes rest my foot on the clutch - but apparently not so.

I changed my sparks and leads - thought I had the problem sussed but I experienced the loss of power later that night.

I took the air filter from my airbox and it runs better - however today I lost power three times when sitting in traffic. This is the first time I saw my dashboard lights dim before the engine cut out.

Occassionally I can not start the car up if I stall because of the lack of power in lower gears.

Tomorrow I'm going to clean the throttle body - but why would it run a bit better without my air filter? Would this be air flow sensor - or should I still try fuel relay and the other one..central something?

There's no F in Quality..
i wouldn't run it without the air filter on, it's there for a reason, to stop cr@p getting into the engine!

you're right, it will run better due the increased air flow etc, but not advisable to run it like that.

first try cleaning the throttle body, and then if that doesn't work, try the ECU Control Relay (has '30' on the top of it) ;)

Died when sitting in traffic and wouldn't start for a few mins this evening. When I clean the throttle body and re-tighten the accelerator cable will the accelerator pedal rise as it sits quite low..
