Engine cover?

Anybody know if the 1.4 TSi FR engine should have an engine cover? I know that the 1.8's do seems odd that my 1.4 doesn't?

Yeh it's not pretty under the hood. Hopefully I won't have to look under there much

Can't remember seeing any modern car without an engine cover - SEAT money saving?

I like it without an engine cover, you can see the nice alloy cam covers and all the other bits of the engine, much nicer than a piece of black plastic.

Some years ago my Mrs had a Puma, horrid silver cover over the engine but when removed you could see the beautiful cast magnesium cam covers. Unfortunately the beauty was spoilt by the bolt holes cast in to hold the cover on.
