then you're daft :) engine conversion will cost you the same (if not more) than a great Cupra.

For the cost of the conversion buy a whole car and swap the parts over, it'd be do-able within a week taking it easy (done a 2.0 8V to VR6 in less than 2 days) but you'd also want the rear disc brake beam fitting and may aswell use the interior.

Mk2 2.0 16v/ Mk3 1.8T / Corrado G60 all run 280mm brakes - which are what you want.

you will need new hubs/bearings/carriers/callipers/discs/pads - I picked up a set for £80, but I imagine you will likely need >£150 for that. fitting isn't hard (but it's not a 5 min job)

Now then mate where abouts are you in Hull or surronding area? Main VAG specialist in Hull is Ricci Concept. Dont know if you already have an engine sorted but i would probably recommend buying a cupra rather then dropping a 1.8T lump in yours? Are the chassis the same from a cupra to 1.4??

I am quite sure that the parts you have spent money on can be moved on to your new cupra!! imo itwould be menal to gt your car converted to a cupra engine. Im not sure i thne chassis are the same either!
