engine conversion.

hi all ive just got a 1.4 engine to put in my 1 litre beezer n need sum advice on wot i need fit it n get it up n running.any ideas peeps?

You're going to need ECU & wiring loom, plus coolant hoses minimum.

what kind of wireing are we talking to get it up n going?.i thought driveshafts n brakes would be on the menu as well

I think they share the 085 gearbox so you don't need to do driveshafts etc

for what youre going to get charged for insurance (modded car) why not a 1.6 or 1.8 16v and do right!

yeah ur gonna get just for changing the engine on the insurance. and a 1litre to a 1.4 isnt a vast upgrade. So if ur gonna do it bang a 1.6 under the bonnet minimum. Coz ur gonna need wiring,ecu,cooling etc for anything other than another 1litre

in that case bring as much of the 1.4 equipment with it as you can, especially keys, locks and ECU coz your iummobiliser codes will change with your ecu change and the your keys wont work, unless you have a way of reprogramming them all available to you.

my car dont av an imobilizer .so other than the ecu n loom n fuel pump do u think thats all i need?
