I'm not sure if the engine is a straight swap but I think my the time you've sorted brakes etc to make it safe it's probably cheaper to just buy a cupra...

I'm sure you've been and will be told this, I'm sorry it didn't answer the question, just pointing out whether it fits shouldn't be the only consideration

Yeah, I know that I may need to get uprated internals.

It may not be cheaper for me to just to buy a cupra. I'd hate to imagine what the insurance would be for a 19 year old haha

Not internals, other things such as brakes, suspension, exhaust system etc.

And it probably would be cheaper, you have to tell your insurance about the conversion, which might even make it dearer than a standard Cupra. Don't be an idiot and think you can get away with not declaring - what happens if you have an accident?

Just get a Cupra, it's way more hassle than its worth doing an engine transplant from a car with that engine as standard.

If you were going to do a R32 conversion or something different then go for it, but for 1.8T's, just get something with it already in.

I had a 1.4 too and waited til I was 21 to get a Cupra, do some cheap subtle mods to the 1.4 to keep you busy and save the bulk of your money for a Cupra... or if you've more sense than me, a house lol

Trouble is guys, I gotta decide. Cupra or FR... Petrol or diesel... Why does SEAT make it hard for us to choose and give us so many options! Haha.

Hi Tom03,

I thought I'd give you a bit of inspiration with yer possible Cupra engine upgrade ;)

Here's my mate in his 1997 Seat Arosa 1.0 to Norma M20 beemer engine conversion(clicky linky)...he's just popping to the shops like, so he wasn't really gassing it...but I love the Beemer engine sound and thought you might like to hear it too.

Remember, Where there's a will there's a way! ;)

Is that the correct video? I dont think so lol
