EML Light

Need a bit of help here,
I recently had the EGR valve on my car fail, took it to the stealer, had it replaced, worked fine for the rest of the day

Then yesterday the Emission control light came on again on the way to work!! Drove it to and from work yesterday light on all day and then down to MK today to get it fixed.

During my trip down to MK the light was still on but when the fuel low light came on the warning light went out?? Anybody got any clue to whats wrong with the car?? could it be the fuel pump??

EDIT: worth noting that the dealer hasnt got a clue whats wrong with it and they are trying to give it back to me saying that theres nothing wrong

That is strange, your dealer should have been able to read the logged fault code(s) and tell you what they were (they would be held in memory even if the light went out). One thing though, when you say that the light went out when the fuel warning came on, do you mean that literally, or I'd think that its more likely that the low fuel warning came on > you stopped to refuel > when you restarted the car the emissions light was off - is that true? If that is what happened, then the current cause of the emissions light being switched on has disappeared and you have had something like 6 engine starts since the cause disappeared - so the light goes out.

well thats it, when i got the car back the light was off, ran it around all day fine light stayed off. Following morning after about 5 mins the EML light came back on.

I turned the car on/off a further 3 times after that.

The light then went out after about 1/2 a mile's worth of driving with the fuel light on.

They've checked the memory and cant find any log so i dont know, i took the car back today and its driving fine.

really really confused

well unless im loosing me marbles..................................
