Electric Window!

After my car flew Straight through the M.O.T i was over the moon... but a day later my window started to play up! i dont think its the motor as it still goes up and down (a little bit) but it seems to get stuck just wondered if anyone has had problems with a mk2 cordy before?? and who do i take i to dont trust these local garages round norfolk there only good for fixing Tractors

Its the mechanism inside the door thats gone, it will have to a new window assembly costing £70

you think its the mechanism? its seems to go up and down ok (for the small amount of space it does go up and down) but wen trying to close it it seems to get stuck. had door card off and checked for it to be off the runners. and it isnt! got day off tomoz might take whole thing out... but you think its the silver motor might be gone!?

If your not getting any motor noise when it stops its because the motor has stopped. Or if the motor carries on and the window doesnt move its come off its tracks. Either way a very common fault on MK2 ibizas and MK3 Polos. Unfortunately it comes as one part from the dealers

sounds like the cable's starting to fray inside the sheathing.... will eventually snap, usually when you're window's down so you can't get it back up again !

Yeah sounds like the cable is starting to go.

Don't touch the windows, get it stripped down and take a propper look (it's very hard to see what's what with it all is situ).

If it is just the plastic conector blocks though, I can get those seperatly from the complete mechanism, and save quite a few £££'s
