Electric Window

A few months ago, I put my drivers window down as i was reversin (as I always do), and when i went to put the window up again it wouldn't go. Eventually, I kinda pulled the door panel away and shimmied the window up to the top.

The window still doesn't work. When I press the switch I can still hear the motor runnin. A mate of mine says the cable may have snapped or somethin? But TBH no-one has had a proper look at it.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be? How much it would cost to fix and what I may need?

Cheers peeps,

Mat

Very common problem mate and there are loads of threads about this. It will be either the window switch, motor or the whole window mechanism which costs about £110 from the stealers.

Take the door card off and have a look to see what's going on - check the cable, mechanism etc as you then have a better idea. The motor and mechanism are one part from Seat but I think you can get the motor seperately else where but can't remember at the mo!

i went to seat (well autoworld) i they said you cant but the part indivdually, you have to but it all together - then he gave me two price, one for motor one for cable :D

I wa like, WTF - you said a min ago had to buy as one unit - had the guy stumped! :D
