Electric Window wound itself down ??

Hi All,

During this neverending cold snap, as a present for me on New Years Day, my Leon FR Mk2 decided to wind its rear nearside window all the way down, by itself, over night.

Has anybody else come across their car doing strange things when its either wet or cold.

Luckily, it was just a mega frosty night and hadn't rained, and our local car thief hadnt noticed an open window.

Confused Mike !!

P.S. How would this affect my insurance, if it had been nicked, vandalised, something stolen, as there would have been no sign of forced entry???

Hi mike I had the same issue and on inspection at the dealer, it was established it was a faulty control module. This controls all windows, alarm etc, I was informed at the same time that this is a common fault on the leon.

After it was replaced everything has been fine, touch wood !

Hope it gets resolved at the dealer for you

thats mad! for insurance purposes the only way ud get a claim would be to prove the control module was faulty. Never had this myself tho when its cold my leon tells me all the headlights are faulty!

I spoke to Hobin of Preston, he said i would have to bring the car in for diagnostics, on a week day, as they cant do it at weekends!

Not sure when that's going to be!

Came home from work tonight as usual - parked out front and locked the car as you do - wife was out with the dog about 2 hours later and came back in to tell me that all four windows were down - and it was raining :censored:

suppose it is likely that I had pressure on the key fob as I was carrying a few things but not convinced - weird

i thought windows automatically go down because of water damage to the module ...
