Copied this off ebay and wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that i could pick one up for cheaply or anyone has one lying around *hopeful*

This will fix all regulator faults:Motor sounds but the glass does not move, glass dropped to one side, or fallen into the door! (Caused by the plastic clamps breaking)

Or noisy grinding operation or jamming (Caused by broken, twisted ,corroded or fraying cables/spool)

i believe my window regulator has gone, so its sitting with a block of wood stuck up the door :(
makes a really nasty sounding grinding noise.

anyone know any scrappies etc i could phone too?

cheers, David

sounds like the cable has actually frayed and jammed up inside the regulator/motor.

same thing has happened on 4 Ibiza's/Cordy's I've owned !!! lol

also is there a way i could just unjam the motor?
that wud save a few probs i suppose

if its a grinding noise id say its most likely to be the mechanism thats gone. mines gone twice now, and when the cable starts to fray and twist it starts sounding like the mechanism is chewing the cable up. the motor will probably be fine, but then i bet its cheaper to buy the whole thing as opposed to just the mechanism.

once the cable has gone tho you cant fix it

if i can get somewhere sheltered tonght i might strip the door down and see whats actually hapening.
it sounds more like the cable is just fraying, cos the motor still wants to spin.
