Electric window motor

My offside rear window has stopped working, having removed the doorcard, I can hear the motor click but nothing else, so I'm guessing the motor has failed. Looks easy enough to swap over - anyone done it, anything to watch out for?

sorry robdon, but i don't know the answer, but i do have a question to chip in with.
Would you be able to replace motor with another and also switch to have one touch? just a thought as wouldn't mind one touch on n/s front.

when mine went in my ibiza it was not the motor that needed replacing, oh no nothing quite so simple. the whole mechanism had to be replaced, 120 quid there or there abouts, the motor was the faulty bit but you couldn't just replace the motor.... still jolly good piece of luck with the hammer rob.

had the same problem just over a year ago. Basically the wife was putting up her window and I heard a crack and it stopped working. You could still hear the motor working but the window wasn't moving, infact it wouldn't close!

It turned out to be a common problem in that the window regulator had broken. Basically there is a piece on the regulator which is plastic and they snap easily. New one's are made with metal components. Tough job to replace as you need to strip the whole door. Cost me £130 I think for the dealer to do it.
