hi. My driver side window will not close. I took off the door panel and can see under the metal plate that the cable has got twisted up. I have done a search and it seems like i need to replace the pulley system. The only trouble is i cant remove the metal plate that the window sits behind. Do i need to get the window up before i can remove the metal plate? I see i have to remove the lock mechanism but i do not have the special tool to remove the two screws holding it in. Where can i get one of these tools from? I would be very grateful for any help. Thanks

stealers have quoted 225 to do it or 78 for the parts only. Does anyone know if the window needs to be up in order to remove the metal panel?

yes it needs to be up almost all the way. the 2 large holes with rubber bungs in then line up with the bolts for the clamp that holds the glass in.

Do a search as I posted a thread with pics a while back

If you are doing it yourself just cut the cables and lift the window by hand and tape it in position as the new regulator will have all new stuff on it.

Edit, 225 quid.........................I'm in the wrong job, only took 2 hours and that was eating my lunch half way through and 2 cuppas as well
