Electric window help needed please

Hi everyone.

My drivers side front electric window has broken. It had been sticking for quite some time but has now come out of it's holding clips completely. I had the door apart the other night but was struggling to remove the inner door card with the motor and system on. I could not see a way to remove the lock system which was the only thing stopping my progress. My theory is to remove this, put the window back onto the mechanism then slide the window back up through the door and rebuild.

I was wondering if anyone had dealt with this problem before? Am I tackling it in the correct manner or is there a more simple method?

It's a common problem. The plastic clips break so the glass falls down.

He is a guide to fixing it. I tried a fixing kit, but ended up buying the whole regulator panel for about £70.
