Electric mirror Fuse

I've got an 06 face lift Ibiza FR TDi and the fuse that supplies the power to the electric mirrors (Fuse 11 on the board) blew about 3 weeks ago so i took it into franics as at this point i wasnt sure what it was. They told me it was just a fuse and they had replaced it and would be ok now.

But today its just blown again so i took the fuse board cover off to check the fuse and for some strange reason it appears the guys at Francis have replaced my 5amp fuse with a 7,5amp fuse, but this has blown too.

Anyone got any idea's before send it in? or is it something you have to put up with and just keep a box of fuses ready for the next time?

Just to add the cars not been retro fitted with anything other than a Sony stereo and an adapter was used so no wires were cut in the car.

Cheers

SEAT changed the logic on the mirrors at some point. The older models have the feature where the passenger mirror tracks the drivers one and at some point it was stopped - my '06 FR didn't

its fooking stupid as when you adjust the left in place then you adjust the right and it puts the left out  oh well glad its not a fault tho!

Densley2387 M8 putting a 7.5amp fuse wouldn't make much of a difference, but if that one blows aswell then there is somethin goin wrong somewhere like the connection or summin
Its always good to carry an extra lot of fuses:)
rashcupra The wing mirrors function is normal, the best thing to do is adjust the right one first obviously the left one will move aswell ignore it:D and then adjust the left one on its own. This function is given to the mirrors coz when ur parking the car and u wanna see the curb then u would simply lower the right one and the left would do the same
Hope that helps

Sounds like you have an electrical fault, time for the stealers to dust off their test meter and find an employee that has had a test meter training afternoon.

Good luck mate, I reckon they will just throw new parts at it till the fault goes away.

Do you have heated mirrors and if so do they still heat up with fuse no 11 removed? It could be a problem with one of the heater elements being high resistance.

Sounds like a dealers fault finding to me:blink:...

Sounds like you have an intermittent electrical short, or a burned out motor? Does it happen if you dont adjust the mirrors?

I believe the heaters are on a seperate circuit, the same one as the heated rear screen.
