Electric folding mirror problem

Hello all,
Has anyone experienced a problem with the folding door mirrors...
I used them last night in a tight spot and this morning the mirrors failed to re-deploy.

checked the manual for any thing obvious, and also all the fuses, not clear which fuse would be used for the folding mirror motors.

Is there a relay for this, and if so where would I get to it

thanks in advance

I have the older Leon, an '05 20vt FR. Seems a bit odd though that both should be affected at the same instant.

Thanks for the reply, I shall give the greasing a try.

Mine quite often wont fold out until i have the ignition on, i just flick the switch back to folded then back again and they return then. i'm guessing you might have already tried this though.

They will not fold/unfold if you're driving above a certain speed, well that's what they're like on my Toledo anyway.

I also heard something about having to wait a few seconds between folding/unfolding the mirrors.

try spinning the switch 180 / 360 degrees - mine does it quite regularly; think the switch is on its way out :(

Thanks guys,
Disconnecting the battery for a minute did the trick. As Lee69 suspected, I have not folded the mirrors for ages, so will do so in the future to exercise the motors and distribute a bit of lub.

With the nature of the remedy, I suspect that there is an over current sensor for the motors, triggered by the mechanism being under lubricated, which can only be reset by disconnecting the battery. I had already pulled every fuse to check when I initially had the problem.

Thanks again

My drivers window has also begun misbehaving too. the one touch works on the way down, but i have to manually put it up for the first time. after that it works on the one touch.
guess it just has gremlins.

This normally happens after the battery has been disconected well it does on mine.;)

Great tips as usual from everyone!

I have a question though which others may also find helpful on this thread - with regards to lube/grease on the mirrors, what is best to use & where shall I stick it (cough )?

Thanks guys - top site! :)

My battery was off recently i just left the switch to open and the ignition on, after about 10 seconds they were working as they should.
