ECU light on??

Just bought a Leon T cupra 52 plate and the ecu light was on when i went to look at it, the dealer said it was because it had been jump started but it came on again 5 miles down the road from garage. It also had a miss fire but only once in 3rd gear.

If any one knows whats wrong it would be a big help??

Coil pack?
Only way to be 100% is get it on vag-com.
If you fill in your location someone local might help you out, or failing that a dealers

Take it back to the dealer and tell them its still on! Make them fix it...you have rights as you bought it from the dealer and they should fix it for free

Best still watch them code read it and write them down then come back to us and we'll tell you whats up and see if it differs to what they say , bet it does lol

theres a seat garage down the road from me i will just take it for a service then if anything comes up i will just get it done on the warranty ive read on here that sum peoples ecu lights are on because of a chip thanx for your help

I would personally advise the place you bought it from what you are doing to ensure they don't try an wriggle out of anything.

If it's just a motor trader then I would guess they don't have VAG-COM, so won't be able to read the codes properly (yes I know there are other code readers out there but some don't pick everything out...said from experience!!)

ANyway, at least then you can gauge their response...might be worth asking if anyone near you on here can scan it for you, and then you have all the info before you go to anyone Seat / otherwise!!

you shouldn't get a light on from a remap...a chip maybe yes, its more likely you would have a remap

If you bought the car and its faulty take it back and make them repair it, don't go elsewhere, they should be told immediately that something is wrong so they can't say you didn't tell them quickly enough etc the sooner the better, and if there is something up make them service it as well for free

they must not have a proper reader coz it was on when i took it for a test drive then when i whent to pick it up it was off but then came back on. does any 1 no any1 that has one of them readers, im in preston but i dont mind a bit of a travel thanx
