ECU + Gearbox??

ok here goes...

been pricing up going Supercharged IHI..... now iv had a very interesting price for the job to be done so am now looking into it further.. the place doing it has got a 30car waiting list so no rush as wont be at least til august.. obviously, pistons, rods, valves etc are all going to be changed aswell as diff too. one thing that popped up that they werent sure of was the ECU what power will it take and what others are available etc?? also the gearbox im sure isnt gonna take kindly to over 500bhp so what options are there for that too?? any help would be great guys

A lot of people are using the 6 speed 02M boxes on Vortex iirc as the 02J doesnt take kindly to major power and stiff clutch pressure plates.

You could look at a quaife gearset.

pete you cylinder head and manifold wont flow that power either. Bill has large port head and customlarge port manifold as well

cheers dude! thats y i was txtin u befor think of stuff il need! il probs end up takin the easy way out do rods, pistons, valves and buy some nitrous if the cost of this is gonna be too mcuh!

This is my list I made up when thinking of going TD06, it's basically bill's spec but this is what you'll need onto of IHI...

- Large port head
- Large port manifold
- R32 throttle body
- Pistons
- Rods
- Valves
- 1900cc bore out (optional, but may aswell!)
- ARP bolts
- Larger DP & Exhaust (Jabba one is only 2.5")
- Larger Injectors
- Limited Slip Diff
- Toyo R888's
- Vibratechnic Race Engine Mounts (If you havent already)

Think thats about it, of course you're also going to need a load of bolts, gaskets, and other little niggles you encounter along the way. Budget another £10k or so.
