ECU flashing

Well I know that this topic does not entirely belong here, but however more here that to the other topics.

I was checking for ECU flashing equipment (win compatibile software with usb obd interface hardware) as also ECU remaped software.

I found these suplier => http://ucables.com and their products:
ECU Flasher for EDC16 => http://ucables.com/ref/FLASHEDC16
ECU software => http://www.obdcar.com/powertuning/

So now I am asking if someone has any experience with this Spanish suplier and if I can flash my Audi A4 (2007) 2.0 tdi ECU with this EDC 16 ecu flasher? Ucables company also offer ECU tuned software for 20 euro. Can you trust this software?

I wouldn't do this myself, if I were you... the risk of messing up your ECU is too high!

If you have correct and OK remmaped software for the ECU you cant damage anything, as flashing the ECU is just a simple procedure you mast follow.

But I agree if the software is not OK or you don't have the right software you can damage engine, but if you careffuly monitor the outputs (EGT...) and discover some errors than you can simply flash the ECU to the previous software version.

So please be more extensive on your suggestions!

as simple as that lol

except you have no guarantee of 'OK software', no official after sales service and pretty much no come back. add that to the fact your 2007 A4's warranty wont be valid if a dealer was required to hook it up to their comms and found something against the manufacters spec. especially if the software you upload to the eeprom turns out to **** up all comms to the ecu...now that would be funny

if it were as simple as you make out, we'd all be doing it. R&D and testing is worth a few hundred quid when your talking about a car

back to your original question, cant say i've come across that supplier of flashing tools before, sorry

well it's a good thing that car has 2 year garanty, because if anything goes wrong it is's the dealer's responsibility.

There is no realistic way to prove that the ECU was flashed if you set it to the previous state.

If by any chance the software is bad you can't damage the car if you monitor the EGT, MAF and other diagnostics values.

And you can get the working software from others (I have a three coworkers with the same engine and all are chipped).

BTW they have payed 650 euros for that!!!
And I pretty much believe that this company does exactly the same - buy or get the software from others who developed it and then take a lot of credit for themselves.
