Hi, anyone using the above? did my oil change yesterday and comparing the original plug and the ecs one there the same thread but massive difference in hex size and strength. I got to say i didnt think its great for the job after it rounded slightly after a tiny turn with a 3/8 ratchet where as the original you can tighten it with anything. maybe i had it on a slight angle as i was on my back using axle stands but i didnt trust it and went back to the original which is 5 times cheaper.

Personnaly think if they were any good a lot more companies would have jumped on the band wagon. Suppose there kind of like those fuel saver gizmo's you can get and the other thinks that give your car 10 more bhp by roggering your MAF with a resistor. LOL :)

I got to say i thought it was a good idea as when i was in the garage it picked up all the tiny filings on my work bench so if there were any in the oil im sure it could pick them out but its just not the same quality as the original.

When i took the plug out there was tiny Fragments of metal stuck to it, so maybe they are good:shrug:

I do think it was a good idea hence buying it but after seeing how soft the metal was when i tightened it i wouldnt want to use it again.

It was just over hand tight i was using a 3/4 ratchet(2nd smallest out of the 4) and was at possibly the slightest of angles i just dont think it should have deformed with such little pressure where as you cant round the original even if you tried
