Eco mode/power cuts off/no throttle response

Hi guys.

I've been driving my Seat Leon 2017 plate 1.4, 150hp for over a year now with no issues at all until this morning. In the Eco mode once I go into freewheel and the car goes completly in eco, when accelerating the throttle seems to go in sleep mode completely and i get no power at all. No rpm's response at all. I can see that the gears are changing but i get no response for at least 5-10 seconds and they slowly the power comes back at full throttle.
When i change the driving mode to sport or normal the car runs as normal.

Has anyone experience similar issues??

Hi Romeo ,
I have a Seat Leon FR MK3 DSG and i seem to have the same issue where i sometimes get no power at all after coasting in eco mode and it leaves me without power for a good 10/15 seconds aswell. Started off happening only in gear 7 but has spread to all the gears in eco mode but in Normal and Sports mode, it drives perfectly well. I do not know what the issue could be , have you found anything out ?

Hi Habzino

I’m afraid that I did not figure out what the issues is. It seems that not many seat owners are facing this problem. I noticed that if I do not drive in eco mode for a while (drive only on normal or sport) the problem seems to go away for a few days but after that it reappears.

Hi Romeo ,
I think i managed to find the issue. It might be the EGR flaps as one of the gets stuck. In eco mode, one of the flaps stay closed wheras in normal and sports mode it is always open hence why the issue does not occur in those modes but in eco it opens and closes so this means it does get stuck and that is why we get no power for a good few seconds. It is an expenisive (£250 to £400 depending on mechanic) or there is an easier way where you get the car remapped and have the flap stay open during eco mode which is a way around.

Hope i Helped.
