Evening chaps/ladies

Just a quick question about my Forge 007P that i noticed today was quite oily so I took and off to give it a clean

When i put it back on I thought i'd try it the other way round to be puzzled by the DV noise been the same as when I had it on before....can anyone explain please??

Tomorrow I am going to decat the downpipe, anyone done this? any problems?

Thanks

yeah i found out that it would make the same noise either way but got fed up with the 007p and went and bought a split-r instead. not sure why it was oily though but i removed the mushroom thingy and put a blanking pug in its place

Well both those topics been covered with lots of info but im bored so.....The 007p is going to make the same noise whichever way round you put it because its still doing the same job, some people have said it makes a chirp noise, but iirc its only really on part boost etc that it does it....de-cat the d/p, problems are caused with the post lambda sensor which can cause an eml and even limp mode, can be mapped out though, plus you will need a cat for the mot and the oem d/p is very restrictive so better option is the get a proper one from blueflame or similar. Better choice though for more hassle free is to get a d/p with sport-cat as when swapping de-cat for mot you can snap bolts etc which obviously is a huge PITA. and sorry for the essay. :)

Thanks for the info on the DV

As for the cat I may know an MOT station that will "oversee" the decat

I just don't want to chop it out if it going to bugger the car, will it cause problems even if the lamba is still plugged into the decat pipe?

I have looked into getting the sports cat and downpipe as my exhaust system is miltek but its like £350 that I haven't got

The sensors job is to measure the ammout of c02 after the cat to make sure its working ok so if you de-cat obviously much more c02 so sensor throw a code and somtimes causes limp mode. There is a trick you can do which is weld a bolt or somthing onto where the sensor goes in so it is less in the exhaust gas flow so in theory senses less c02 which some people have done and it has worked. The sensor always needs to be "pluged" in aswell even if is mapped out properly. But its upto you if you try it has worked for some but not for others.

Hmm might give welding the bolt a go what about blocking the lamba lol bit of insulation tape... he he

Or could just leave the lamba dangling

i think what silencer ment was some peeps have welded a nut on to the existing thread where the lambo sensor goes in, so in when you screw it back in it doesnt go as far in as it normally would... i think anyways

Yep M87NER thats what i ment.....but if you were able to smooth out the d/p and make it free flowing enough maybe. but id say more likely just make it more free reving and more responsive...im acctuly going to have a word with a custom exhaust place near me to see what he can do.
