Dump valve relocation, how? why?

Noticed a few people on here (Robdon etc) have their forge dump valve relocated to the front of the engine bay on a long silicon hose. What's the reason for this and can you buy a specific kit do to it.

Keeps the DV cool, but mainly it means that it's cooler air that's been through the intercoolers that's re-introduced into the turbo on gear changes, rather than hot air.

Yes you can get specific kits - forge do one, so you could try forge or westec...

P.S. I'm in Kirkby - I'll keep my eye open for you!

i read a slightly different reason in a turbo book. to dump straight after the turbo reverses the air flow through the complete system, even if only for a fraction of a second. the optimum place is 6 inchs before the throttle bady as even when the car dumps, the overall flow is still going in the same general direction, so no momentum is lost in the air particles.
