Been having a few probs with my car recently, basically not boosting as it should and poor running. Felt like I had hardly any boost when travelling back home tonight :(

Got back and checked a few of the vacum hose connections that didnt seem too tight. Also took off the dump valve to see if it needed cleaning. Found traces of oil on the base of the valve and the inside of it was pretty gunked up. Cleaned it all out and regreased and checked it was running smoothly.
Then I unpluged the breather from the back of the TIP and found it pretty clogged up with oil so gave it a good clean and emptied out the hose of any oil.

Fitted it all back together and took the car for a run, its 100% better, holds boost better and is a lot smoother.
Gonna get a proper service kit for the dump valve though to make sure it keeps running correctly.

So if your having erratic boost problems and generally dodgy running I suggest you check your dump valve and oil breather first before you start spedning money on new N70s and the like :)

*could a mod move this to hints and tips, probably more appropriate in there*
