Hello people,

This is my first post, therefore I apologise for any mistakes/stupidity on my behalf… I have just bought an Ibiza and in the couple of weeks I have owned, I have really fallen for what a great car it is…. That said, there are a couple of things that I would like advice on – My car is about 8 months old, and has about 7k miles on the clock, so with the warranty nearly up, any niggles I have noticed I really want to get sorted out asap…

Firstly I have noticed the fogging of the lamps, and have read within other posts that I can get this fixed, so far so good, but a couple of other things worry me for a car that is relatively new… the clunking when I put full lock on doesn’t instil me with confidence, having read similar posts can anyone tell me if there is definitive cause/solution to this?

My other worry is a squealing noise that can be heard from around the front wheels usually heard at low speeds (guess due to noise level), a really high pitched noise,,,, so high pitched that most people I have had in the car cant hear it and think I’m going crazy when I begin ranting about it…. Anyone have any idea what this could be, had it both when accelerating and breaking, any advice would really be appreciated.

the headlights foggng up is a very common niggle!

as for the knocks and squeeking, take your local SEAT technician for a spin and utilise your warranty!

which model have you gone for?

I went for the 1.4 DAB in subtle yellow... not everyones taste but i love it!

I know i should just take it in, but i just get the feeling im going to get the standard.... "we were unable to find any fault" when i know there is something not quite right - hoping i can arm myself with some knowledge for when they try to fob me off! Heading to dealer on wed to pick up some paint for the stone chips i failed to notice when i bought it, so will have that battle then i guess!

your IBIZA has a 3 year or 60k miles warranty !!!!!!!

BTW I have heard about the very high pitched squeel noise on another thread, are you sure you aint a dog ?

3 years!?! that will teach me to listen to a salesman… he kindly informed me it came with a 12mth manufactures warranty!… And although previous girlfriends have accused me of being so, no I’m not a dog - was there ever a cause suggested? ...I strangly find it dissapears when i turn my volume up on my stereo too... guess it could be electronically linked?

the 1st year for new cars is a "manufacturers warranty" and the 2nd and 3rd years are "dealer warranty", and you can take it to any dealer if you get upset with the one it came from

if the car is more than 3 yrs old and you get it from a seat dealer then you get a 1 year "used car dealer warranty"

don't know about the noise but it has come up on here before

knocling noises on full lock ect can be from the droplinks or the arb bushes or even the springs
