I've now tracked down my sluggish LC probs to the MAF, after replacing DV, N75, cleaning TB etc. I unplugged it yesterday & went for a drive... WOW, it was so much smoother & felt considerably quicker too  . So, I'm now driving around with the MAF unplugged, is this ok? will it do any damage? or should I plug it back in until I get a new one? Also, the TCS light came on when I unplugged the MAF, is this normal?

Cheers,
Robbo

Thanks for the swift reply. I think I'll plug it in to be on the safe side. I'll just put up with the sluggishness 'til I get a new MAF.

Cheers,

ok, update. Got a new MAF from GSF & fitted it 'tother night. I disconnected the battery for a while to reset the ECU. Went for a drive (to watch the mighty whites 'nearly' beat Wigan, actually!), anyway, car felt loads smoother & pulled much stronger to the red line. I was well happy, problem sorted (I thought!). After a couple of days now with the new MAF it seems to be back to how it was before!!!, hesitation when accelerating, uneven boost etc. (I deffo thought it was the MAF as it ran brilliant with th old one unplugged!) Anyone got any suggestions?... please... I've already replaced the DV with a Forge 007p, tried 3 different N75 valves, cleaned & re-aligned TB. No fault codes on VAG-COM either. Please help, I'm getting well peed off now.

Cheers,
Robbo

Nope, The problem youre having is due to not having enough cold air coming through. If you can log it on VAG-COM you'll probably find that youre only letting in 100-125 cubic centimetres of air, when you want at the least 175. get a good air feed/filter/heatsheild/whatever possible to gain more cold air, and your problem will be solved.

I had the same problem. So chill, its not that scary!

Cheers
