Driveshaft

Hi folks....
anyone got info on driveshafts for an ibiza cupra R
mine has snapped at the wheel hub,leaving about 4 threads.
So, i need a new one
i dont want to pay dealership prices
do i need a complete shaft to inner CV?
do they use the same spec shaft on any other VAG models?
etc...

if its left threds behind then i would say it the outer cv thats snapped.not the shaft

think this is the same as what happened to my ibiza back in october.it started with grinding sounds like the bearing going. thought it was the bearing at first cos the wheel wobbled when i jacked it up, but turned out the whole hub was moving. had the center hub nut tightened which cured it for a few weeks until the noises started coming back but the next time we tried tightening the nut, half the thread came off with it

luckily this happened outside of the Westec garage, so left it there and a new cv later it was all sorted it

i think what you are saying is,
the threaded, final part of the shaft, is a component part of the outer cv joint.
hopefully youre right!!!!!!!
Ill give it a go.
