Ideally you need a bar that goes under the driveshaft such as a TT one or the Whiteline bar from DPM.
To stop it rubbing on the chassis leg you need to have it notched, this isn't advisable really though (but it's your car so do as you see fit ;))
Even with this you won't be able to lay frame as the standard subframe doesn't allow it, you need the TT setup with TT cast wishbones and hubs to do that :)

Keep an eye on your sump too...

What do you mean lay frame? If the leg was to be notched wouldnt it make the front end weak? And would any tt arb fit my leon? Thanks for your input

Chassis notches are not technically legal as you are modifying a stressed part of the monocoque and it is also within 300mm of a critical mounting point, which is mine hasn't been notched.

Lay frame - Subframe on the floor ;)

Iv raised it back up its to dangerous and its not meant to be so im not risking it but iv got now i seem to have a slight vibration when putting the power down hard i did this when it was lowwered on 60mm springs but i thought nothing of it, does anyone have any ideas? I thought it maybe a worn drive shaft on ns as thats where its coming from and when i jack car up on the ns and twist that wheel theres abit of play in the balljoint could it be this causing vibration?

Similar problem here:

Chassis - Leon FR 1.8T
ARB - standard, running in Powerflex bushings
Suspension drop from stock FR height - about 10 mm (Bonrath top mounts)
Track extension - 8mm/wheel spacers, for a week now 10 mm/wheel spacers

Persistent grinding noise from right front wheel when:

- climbing kerbs with wheels turned maximum right;
- steering maximum to the right with car loaded on the right (1-2 passengers);
- running fast over bumps in the road with car loaded on the right (1 passenger).

No noises in fast driving, either straight line or curves, on normal roads' surface.

Suspension mods have been there for about 6 years. Grinding noise started last winter, goes on and off.

Checked: driveshaft CV joint - good, wheel bearing - good, brake pads - good, steering ball joints - small amount of play/slop.

Driveshaft rubs (worn band about 40mm wide) when the grinding noise happens, apparently on chassis.

Why didn't it rub before? Did the top mounts compress over time and went deeper in the strut towers, so the suspension got lowered? Or the play in the ball joints allows the wheel + driveshaft assembly go upwards more than normal?

Noise can be pretty annoying sometimes.

Edit solution: did again the wheel alignment :)

Yes, if you have movement in the ball joints (side to side or general wobble) then that will cause vibration, so that would be the first thing to check and change.

Also, if you have been driving it 'slammed' then you may also have damage to other areas where bits were touching or may have knocked when driving on uneven ground..such as any road in the UK!
