Drivers side door mirror jammed

As title suggests:

2016 seat leon fr
I Parked in town so I folded my mirrors in via the in car switch. Came back 3 hours later I put the keys in, flicked the switch back to fold them out but drivers side was stuck folded in.

It seems to keep trying to close but as its already in that position it doesn't move then it does nothing when i switch it open.

Things I've tried:

Fiddled with the switch a ton.

Window reset prosedure.
Open windows, close windows, hold close again for a few seconds
(I did this via the key and door switch.)

Disconnected the battery for a few minutes then reconnected.

Sprayed lots of Wd40 in the gap between the mirror and the mirror door mount.

At this point I'm coming to the conclusion that the motor is seized?

Any help?

I had the same issue only a few weeks ago, I had to force the mirror back into position then purchase a new mirror. Your motor has gone unfortunately.
I tried everything under the sun with no avail.
Seems it’s not a regular issue because I didn’t get any responses when I posted on here for advice etc. Guess were the unlucky ones!

Thanks for the response.

Did you have to buy a whole new mirror or are the motors interchangeable?

Just out of curiosity, did your wing mirror motor start sounding louder when opening and closing before it gave up? I believe my drivers side mirror seems louder this week, and after seeing this im now wondering if mine is on the way out. Cheers

I had to buy a whole new mirror unit, you can’t just change the motor

I didn’t pay attention. Not sure if there is any tell tale signs.

No problem lads was just wondering if that is a sign of failure to come. Im not too worried, bit of a bugger you cant swap the motors over. How much you looking at for a replacement wing mirror around £50-£70 at a guess?

I was looking last night on fleabay and yeah around 50 quid seems the going price for a whole mirror assembly. Not too bad.
One good thing about it is that the colour coded bit can be unclipped and clipped onto the new mirror so I don't even have to worry about getting the right colour match.

I've found a couple of YouTube videos of removing the mirror so that's helpful.
Looks like a bit of a PITA job tho. Door card has to come off.
