Driver footwell water leak!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had a problem before with water leaking into their drivers footwell??? I have taken the car to seat and they removed the carpet and seats but couldn't find it! They wanted to remove the dashboard but I didn't want them to! I was wondering if anyone knows what could possibly cause the footwell to get wet?

Possibly washer fluid??? The engine coolant is the same level as it has been for a while!!! Ian really unsure of where it could be coming from!! Any help would be appreciated!!!

Many Thanks

Yeah I was thinking that! But the air con is working fine heats up fine and blows cool air just fine aswell!!! the dealer said it could be coming from behind the dash! But they wants over £200 to do it! After it already cost that for them to look the first time!!!! Just really confused with it!!!

My car was back three times for this problem. They told me it was the seals, and that they wouldnt replace them under warranty (as that only covered mechanical defects?).

They replaced the doorcard with a new one- which was a waste of time.

They eventually replaced the seals. They said someone (it was them) had bent/misshaped them at some point. Load of crap because they had always been fine. The leak hasnt returned but if it has been raining, expect a bucketful of water tipping the other direction, out of the car.

Tsk!

Yeah I thought it could be the seals!!! But I have water leaking in from behind the pedals it is soaking wet! So I'm not sure what seals it could be if any of them!!! Seat wanted £200 to take the dash out but I'm not prepared for them to do that!!!! I think I should get the washer fluid resevoiur checked first!

I have the same problem. Its the rear wash tube. It runs from the bottle through a gromet at the bulkhead and in behind the drivers side dash. Seat dealership want £500 to lift the dash out. Don't use the rear wash & it will dry out. I am going to try myself and find where the washer tube has split & stick in a connector instead. I hope I can access it once I remove drivers front wheel and arch plastics.

I've a 2007 cupra. Its not the windscreen. Get on your knees under the dash & get someone else to apply the rear wash. U will see it come down in seconds. If u keep using the rear wash it will leak all the way under the drivers seat (mine broke at Christmas but didn't realise it was damaged until the weather thawed!) and my carpet and foam backing behind drivers pedals was soaking. If anyone has suggestions about fixing it, give me a shout. New baby due in 5 weeks so need it fixed before then!

Yeah its not my windscreen! I'll have a look at my rear washer and see what I can find! I thought it was strange considering the weather has been nice and it is still wet in the footwell!!! Def worth having a look at!!!

Hiya! I have tried what u said! And it is the rear washer ! I was wondering why some of the pressure had gone in it! Loads of water leaks into the footwell!! Do u have any ideas how to fix it???

I have chatted to a few friends. I think I might be able to access from drivers side front wheel arch. It you can see where its split, just buy a connector and cut the pipe. Then put plumbers sealant on it to stop it re-occurring. If it works for me I will give u a shout. My car is dry now but smells like sh@te!

Hiya, just been to my local garage today and they took a look at my car! they say that they cant do it because of where the pipe runs behind the dash! they also think the dash needs to be taken out! they took out the wheel arches and front wheels and could not access the pipe! so looks like its going to have to be a job for seat! but he did notice that the pipe runs along with another pipe which he says is an electrical pipe! which he found strange! he finds it strange that the pipe should run through behind the dash and not up the side of the car! but we think it is a split pipe!!!! n e news with yours yet?
