Hi, Can anyone help with regards to the DSG filter on the 7 speed gearbox.
Apparently this is not required to be replaced during a DSG service on the 7 speeds but I'm going to replace along with fresh oil.

Thanks

If you get it done by the dealer, the dealer doesn’t change the filter (At least not in The Netherlands). I find this to be very stupid giving the fact “lifetime” filters do not exist!

I had to speak on them a lot to get them change the filter as well! Come on, just a filter of 15 euro!

So, I think you made the right decision to change the filter with the oil change.

Took the car to have the dsg serviced at main dealer and they didn't even drain the oil from the mechatronic drain plug only drained it from the main sump, so I'm going to donit myself. Don't even think they did any adaptations to the gearbox either.

When I asked my main dealer to service the DQ381 on my Ateca, they said it doesn’t need doing, it’s sealed for life.
I’m under the impression it does need doing so was stumped after this reply.

Yeah it will need doing, they say the DQ381 doesn't need an oil change until 80k miles. Had mine done at 40k and the main dealer didn't do it correctly so got my money back and I'm going to have a go myself.

Yeah I’d only get it serviced by a dealer for service history.
Even better an independent who can update online service record.

I did mine myself last year and it wasn’t ‘that’ hard to do.

Deffo change the oil filter.

There are a few more videos on YouTube now for this procedure.
Just bear in mind that the Red fill pipe doesn’t need loosening 2 turns.
This will make sense when you read the instructions how to do it :)

If I remember I’ll update this thread with the latest DQ381 workshop manual I could find (a 2020 one made by Skoda, but same gearbox)

That would be great if you have a workshop manual for this. 👍
